Like all good ideas, the ARTpillow concept was the result of an unmet desire. I wanted to give a special gift to someone very special to me --- but they had everything and had enough money to buy almost anything they wanted. It's a shame to give a gift that misses the mark and I wanted a gift for them that would be perfect and totally unique... so from my enormous and beautiful fabric stash I created the Christmas Star/Coffee House Cool ARTpillows.

The resulting set of four 16X16 pillows features a Christmas side: an ivory sawtooth star set on a background of burgundies, mossy greens and shimmery gold accents. But how silly to have a set of pillows that only comes out at Christmastime so I created a alternative design on the flip side to compliment the colors in their home and the colors in the beautiful mountain landscape outside their window and used sheet music to pay homage to my brother's interest in musical composition. On both sides, each design uses many of the same fabrics or colors and a similar design concept but each pillow is composed a bit differently than it's neighbor, like friends who share a common interest but are still unique.
